Sora opens a new era of text-to-video creativity

OpenAI has introduced a new app called Sora that turns text prompts and images into hyperrealistic videos with sound. Within seconds, users can generate complete clips in any style — cinematic, animated, surreal, or photorealistic.

Sora allows creators not only to make original scenes but also to cast friends as characters. The app features a «cameo» option that lets users control when and how they appear in videos. It also supports remixing, enabling people to transform others’ work by adding new characters, extending scenes, or changing the overall mood.

A standout feature is automatic sound design. Each video comes with music, dialogue, and effects tailored to the scene, requiring no extra editing. According to OpenAI, "a single sentence can unfold into an anime short, a cinematic scene, or a remix of a friend’s video."
